Waterfront

Nestled on the south coast of Devon lies Waterfront Cottage, with glorious views over Slapton Ley and the beach of Torcross. The Ley is the largest natural freshwater lake in the South West. The tiny village of Torcross is yet just a stone's throw from the sea and a short drive to the chic towns of Dartmouth , Kingsbridge and Salcombe. The former fisherman's cottage has been painstakingly restored and designed to offer exceptional contemporary open plan living that makes the most of its delightful location

The front garden has seating for six overlooking the water at the front of the property, which is a perfect spot to soak up the morning sun and for an alfresco breakfast. Slapton Ley is a Site of Special Scientific Interest because of the habitat and the rare species which thrive in the unique conditions. The ley is home to over 100 species of birds including a nationally important population of breeding Cetti's Warblers.

Within yards of the front gate you are on the sea front, a short stroll from the renowned Start Bay Inn or The Seabreaze Café with its seaside style Cath Kidston décor, where you must try Carols famous scones and delicious cakes!

From here the south west coast path will lead you north or south to the spectacular headlands and stunning beaches, follow the coast path and you will come to Beesands where you may be tempted to stop off at the famous Cricket Inn or the Britannia, locally known as The Shack, serving fresh seafood straight from the fisherman's catch!
