My husband and I stayed at this lovely cottage with two other couples at the end of March. We had a lovely time in an exquisitely furnished home from home.

The modern interior is a complete surprise as you enter the seaside end terrace. Real 'wow factor'. Everything you could need is here and really nice touches made our stay extra special.

There was even an excellent view of the famous Slapton Tank from the bedrooms!

The cottage is very well placed for pubs, restaurants and tea rooms and is only a short 2 minute walk from the seafront.

I would recommend this stay to both couples and families alike and very much look forward to returning.

My wife and I had a great stay at the Waterfront Cottage and couldn't have been more pleased with the standard of accommodation. It was ideally located for Slapton Sands and the coastal path and was also just a short walk from a good local pub where we enjoyed some excellent fish and chips. Start Bay Revisited.

It had been nearly 40 years since I last visited Start Bay on a school geography trip and so this weekend break with friends was to reunite me with a part of the country that I'd neglected for quite a while.

Arriving tired after a long drive down from London, all sense of fatigue disappeared as we entered this beautifully appointed cottage to find a huge Victoria sponge cake sitting on the kitchen island just begging to be washed down with a cup of tea.

Suitably refreshed, it quickly became clear that a lot of love and attention had gone into creating a stylish seaside home from home; From the hand painted pictures on the wall to the port hole mirrors and the use of industrial latches in the bathroom and bedrooms, the many eclectic touches brought the outside in and added to that sense of holiday fun to come.

In terms of location, Waterfront is close enough to be able to pad barefoot back from a long day at the beach but far enough away from the bustle to be able to sit out undisturbed and enjoy a sundowner (or two) in the garden over looking the Ley.

Start Bay is stunning and there are many wonderful walks and places of interest within easy striking distance.

All in all, this is a great location to visit and Waterfront provided first class accommodation for our stay. I can recommend it without hesitation.

Stylish Cottage in a Wonderful Location, with a view to inspire!

A lovely break with family over the long weekend. We were a mixed group with age ranges from 80 all the way down to 7, and house and location perfect for each of us. The only (very minor) observations would be: Two lovely towels are provided but the second is very small and not of much use when washing hair, the house is very open planned and can be quite noisy if you are in a larger party, the latches on the doors in particular make quite a bit of noise. The cottage was beautifully stylish and equipped with everything you could need, with plenty of space and seating for us all. The Start Bay Inn did lovely food, and the Café does wonderful breakfast...and ice cream! both on the beach front and just a stones throw away from the cottage. The ducks are also very friendly ! We did a trip to Salcombe which took approximately 20 mins by car and really worthwhile for a spot of shopping or crabbing. We also visited Blackpool Sands which is approx. 15 mins from the cottage by car and is a large cove of shingle beach with good facilities (toilets and café) dogs are not allowed and the entry fee was £2 per car. All beaches around the Torcross area were beautiful and very quiet. Thank you for a wonderful trip, would recommend.

Lovely cottage in a beautiful location

My family and I stayed in this cottage last week and thoroughly enjoyed the property. It has been stylishly renovated and is a lovely place to stay. All of the beds are very comfortable. The sitting area is a nice place to relax at the end of the day and the kitchen provided everything we needed. There is a small patio area immediately at the rear of the property but I particularly enjoyed the garden at the front, which provides a majestic view of Torcross. We had not visited this area before and it proved to be a delightful surprise. It is unspoilt, not at all commercial and there are plenty of lovely pubs to eat in within a 5 mile radius. The Start Bay Inn is a very short stroll away and I would also recommend The Globe Inn at Frogmore. The Sea Breeze cafe, again a short stroll from the cottage, is delightful. The breakfasts are very good and the cream teas and cakes are delicious. We had a lovely holiday and would definitely return.

Everything was lovely and clean from the extremely well equipped kitchen; welcoming lounge and wonderfully comfy beds to the stunning bathrooms. A lot of thought has gone into making this beautifully decorated cottage a home from home. We really appreciated the milk and Prosecco waiting for us in the fridge when we arrived; but waking up to the wonderful view of Slapton Ley from the bedroom window every morning, was just the icing on the cake!

Perfect location, beautiful house.

We couldn't have asked for a better spot than Torcross. The beach is lovely, Slapton Ley idyllic and the pubs and cafes within easy walking distance are delicious. The cottage is as nice as it looks in the pictures!

Great property in a great location.

My family, including 2 small children, spent a week at Waterfront and had a brilliant time. The house is extremely well equipped with everything you could need. The location is great, both for exploring what South Devon has to offer and on foot within Torcross.
